10 Reasons Why Roman Reigns Is ‘Best For Business’
2. The WWE Network Needs A Star To Call Its Own...
Make no mistake, the WWE Network is the companys core focus right about now and they need a new, Network-era star to sell it with. If the WWE Network had been possible when Stone Cold and The Rock were duking it out in front of packed houses and WWE was at its hottest since Hogan, then it would have been an unparalleled success...But today? Well, the jurys still out on that one. WWE desperately needs to create a new star for this new era, a star with mainstream catch all appeal, a star that makes you want to buy the Network and watch it all day. Your baby brother needs to want the figure, you need to want to order the Network, and your girlfriend needs someone to lust after - and therefore root for (apologies for the sexism, female fans). WWE needs a hot new star to sell the WWE Network worldwide. Roman Reigns can be that star. The creation of a new top guy in WWE is always an exciting time and for those of us old enough to remember the making of Undertaker, The Rock, Shawn Michaels, Stone Cold Steve Austin, Bret Hitman Hart, Kurt Angle, Chris Jericho, Eddie Guerrero, Daniel Bryan and others, it is another feather in our fan caps whenever we see a new star on the rise. For those of us that were never 100% convinced of Cenas top guy status, no matter how hard they may have wanted to be, the making of Roman Reigns should be a much needed breath of fresh air. It has the potential to be a lasting, and greatly effective, I was there moment.
I am a professional author and lifelong comic books/pro wrestling fan. I also work as a journalist as well as writing comic books (I also draw), screenplays, stage plays, songs and prose fiction.
I don't generally read or reply to comments here on What Culture (too many trolls!), but if you follow my Twitter (@heyquicksilver), I'll talk to you all day long!
If you are interested in reading more of my stuff, you can find it on http://quicksilverstories.weebly.com/ (my personal site, which has other wrestling/comics/pop culture stuff on it).
I also write for FLiCK http://www.flickonline.co.uk/flicktion, which is the best place to read my fiction work.
Oh yeah - I'm about to become a Dad for the first time, so if my stuff seems more sentimental than usual - blame it on that!
Finally, I sincerely appreciate every single read I get. So if you're reading this, thank you, you've made me feel like Shakespeare for a day! (see what I mean?)
