10 Reasons Why WWE 2014 Was The Year Of Seth Rollins

7. Headlining Five Pay-Per-Views

When The Shield initially parted ways in June, everyone figured Roman Reigns would make it to the main event scene before Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. Technically, he did for a time, competing in the main events of the Money in the Bank and Battleground pay-per-views, but as of December's TLC event, Rollins will have headlined more PPVs than either of the other two Shield members. Among these PPV main events was a 30-man Royal Rumble match that he performed quite impressively in. It wasn't until Payback in June (one night prior to turning on The Shield on Raw) that he was once again featured in the show's marquee match, defeating Evolution in a clean sweep alongside The Shield. The feud between he and Ambrose caught so much steam by the fall that WWE had no choice but to put them in the main event of the Hell in a Cell show above John Cena and Randy Orton. Rollins ended that event with his hand raised high. The following month, he led Team Authority into battle against Team Cena in one of the most anticipated matches in recent memory at Survivor Series. Despite a valiant effort, Rollins was unsuccessful in winning for his team and securing the jobs of Triple H and Stephanie McMahon. He'll also be closing out the TLC PPV against John Cena in a Tables match. If that doesn't scream main event star, what does?
