10 Reasons Why WWE Clash Of Champions 2020 Was The Best PPV Of The Year

4. The Right People Won

There was an air of predictability about the majority of matches on the card that almost didn't sit right with your writer. WWE values the old adage that anything can happen in this company so it wouldn't have been totally unbelievable for them to pull a few last-minute swerves just because they could, damn it! Thankfully, they did not.

It's hard to recall an event when every single match had the right result but that's essentially what we saw go down at Clash of Champions. The Bayley/Asuka contest can be forgiven for its lack of a finish because of how unplanned it was and the fact that it was only designed to give us Sasha Banks' return (which, in turn, was the right finish), but the truth is that by the end of the night, the right people were holding the gold.

Drew McIntyre remained a fighting champion on Raw while Roman Reigns firmly established himself as the predator at the top of the SmackDown food chain. Asuka reminded us why nobody is ready for her while Bobby Lashley proved that he deserves to be finally holding gold.

Regardless of whether you saw these results coming or not, we now have a line-up of strong battle-hardened champions on each brand and a new well-deserved champion in Sami Zayn - and that's certainly a lot better than what we could have gotten.
