10 Reasons Why WWE Fastlane 2016 Truly, Utterly Sucked
4. No Debuts Or Returns
Even if the matches were to come to predictable conclusions, fans that tuned into Fastlane were confident that they could bank on one debut or return at the very least. After all, the underwhelming card left plenty of room to be filled with promo segments. There were strong reasons to believe a number of debutantes or returnees would be making an appearance at the show, with the likes of Enzo and Cass, Goldberg and/or Sting seemingly likely to grace Cleveland. John Cena's cryptic Instagram post even mounted a case for the unlikely return of CM Punk. Nothing. Nada. Zero. Zilch. Aside from a promoted Edge and Christian segment, no rare faces were in sight. Even The Undertaker was left in the wings despite the emergence of training images ahead of his WrestleMania 32 match. While a number of those names may show up on the following night's episode of Raw, it was significantly underwhelming to not have a new face on the scene given how many opportunities were presented.
Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
