10 Reasons Why WWE Fastlane 2016 Truly, Utterly Sucked
5. Triple H's One-Minute Appearance
It's widely understood that Triple H is a transitional champion, but having his only appearance at Fastlane, the 'final stop before WrestleMania' as Michael Cole constantly reminded us, come after the final match of the night in the form of a verbal exchange with Roman Reigns is a huge waste. The WrestleMania 32 main event is going to be Roman Reigns vs Triple H for the WWE Championship, yet the championship has hardly been on TV since the Royal Rumble. After the main event was confirmed when Reigns secured victory in the Triple Threat Match, The Authority's music hit and The Game slowly made his way down the aisle to stand off with his future opponent. Then credits. Then fade to black. Right, okay then. It's bad enough that a WWE pay-per-view ran short yet again, but to have it close in a fashion that does nothing more than further what we already know was a wasted opportunity. You're going to tell me that after Roman Reigns beat the life out of Triple H with a chair at TLC and Triple H eliminated Roman Reigns from the Royal Rumble match on the way to eventually winning his WWE Championship, the pair is just going to trade words passive-aggressive words? Even if nothing happened between Triple H and Reigns, both Dean Ambrose and Brock Lesnar could have done something to further a story or develop a new one. The Reigns-Ambrose friendship remains intact despite constant mentions of the pair slowly dividing and Brock Lesnar got the snot beat out of him with nothing to show for it.
Overly-opinionated Australian WWE smark who is definitely not #booty. Slowly angering the IWC one article at a time. We will probably strongly dislike each other - let's be friends! @MattKMarsden
