McIntyre lost his WWE title to The Miz, who cashed in after a Bobby Lashley beat down on top of a gruelling Elimination Chamber match. So it’s fair enough Drew might feel a bit hard done by and demand a title match with “The Almighty”.

At WrestleMania 37 Drew might have been distracted by MVP but he essentially lost clean to big Bob. Then he failed to regain the strap in a Triple Threat match at WrestleMania Backlash.

At this point Kofi Kingston might have made a more interesting title contender but instead Drew beat the New Day man for another championship match. This is a product of WWE booking where every big feud must extend across several PPVs but it doesn’t flatter McIntyre. He acts entitled to endless title shots but then can’t get it done on the night. Hardly top babyface qualities.

The Stipulation on that Hell In Cell Match didn’t help. After losing Drew was no longer allowed to challenge for the WWE title while Bobby Lashley held onto it. The implication being that otherwise Drew would continue to demand and receive undeserved title shots.

Which proved to be essentially what happened as soon as Big E won the WWE title, even though Drew was coming off the back of losing efforts for the secondary US Title.
