Admittedly, the sight of WrestleMania matches taking place under the baking San Francisco sun gave the event a unique and fun atmosphere. It will be instantly recognisable alongside WrestleMania 9 as the only two 'Manias to occur under broad daylight for the vast majority of the show. Others, such as 'Mania 24, also took place in outdoor arenas, but largely once night had fallen. However, once the main event matches came around, the cheery daylight actually took away from a lot of the required gravitas for stars such as Sting, Bray and The Undertaker, those who thrive in an eerie atmosphere. The entrance of Wyatt particularly suffered, his lamp rendered redundant and his creepy accomplices not nearly as spooky as they would have been in an arena plunged into near-darkness. Despite this, the sunshine worked with the early, fast-paced opening of the show, and shouldn't be an idea cast aside in future. The WWE might want to start a couple of hours later, allowing the atmosphere to have completely changed for the big main events later on.
