10 Reasons WrestleMania 32 Was A Huge Disappointment

5. Too Many Heel Victories

For a company that has fully embraced the mantra of “putting smiles on faces”, so much so that even notorious wrestling rebel Michael “P.S.” Hayes dedicated a portion of his speech to it during his Hall of Fame induction, WrestleMania 32 seemed to be focused on doing exactly the opposite.

The grandest stage of them all has always been the show built around the idea that you send the fans home happy. Less than a handful of times in the show’s 32 year history has the event ended with the heel winning the main event.

Not only did this card end with the heel – at least in the eyes of the audience – standing tall, but it also featured an unusual amount of matches where the bad guy came out on top.

When it comes to the main card matches, six of the bouts technically ended with heels winning, seven if you count The Undertaker since a loss for him would have meant the removal of The Authority with the story they were telling. Even more puzzling is the decision behind some of those wins, such as Jericho going over Styles or the League or Nations beating New Day.

For a show that was already being shrouded in negativity, this was not the way to go about countering any of that.
