10 Reasons WWE Are Inducting Sting Into The Hall Of Fame
9. He's A 6-Time WCW World Champion
In World Championship Wrestling, Sting was a stalwart. Stretching right back to the 1980's, Steve Borden was proud to be part of the promotion, although he later admitted relief when the horrendous last few years came to an end. Even so, Sting remains one of the most memorable figures in WCW folklore, and that really deserves to be recognised fully by WWE. Overall, Sting held the WCW World Title on 6 different occasions. Adding to that, he also won the NWA Heavyweight Championship once, before the organisation was rebranded as WCW. Sting was also handed reigns with pretty much every other WCW title belt, including the United States, Television and Tag-Team Championships. Management clearly viewed the man as someone worthy of each accolade. Sting hasn't captured any gold in WWE, but it could be argued that there's no real need to hand him a title reign at this point. A long-lasting character like Sting doesn't necessarily need any championships around his waist these days, he's more of a legend kind of persona. His achievements in WCW must be acknowledged, fans loved it whenever he held the WCW World Title.
