10 Reasons WWE Are Struggling Without Brock Lesnar

5. WWE's Failure In Negotiations With Lesnar

It is quite sensational that WWE signed Brock Lesnar back to a deal with the same limited dates and $5 million a year price tag. The negotiations didn't go smoothly, with Lesnar storming out of one Monday Night Raw a month before WrestleMania. So presumably Vince McMahon was angling for more dates and less money. But he failed. He ended up re-signing Brock for the exact same terms. That has now resulted in the current situation in which the WWE's structure and booking is hampered by Lesnar's status. If McMahon had maybe stuck to his guns, it is possible that WWE could have had Lesnar for more dates. We'll never really know what bluffs Lesnar was playing, but in the end he didn't want to go back to UFC. He could have gone home and retired completely, but presumably he wanted to continue and keep on earning while he was young enough. If McMahon had held out, he possibly could have snatched Lesnar at a better deal, in turn giving the post Mania product the support it needed.
