10 Reasons WWE Cares So Much About Tag Team Wrestling Again
8. Because Multiple-Man Matches (Again) Rarely Ever Fail In WWE
There was a time in the Attitude Era where any combination of talent on the WWE roster could be called upon to have an entertaining six-man tag match that ended with a plethora of finishers and a wildly popping crowd. That era has long since been gone since the time of the "Smackdown Six" (Chris Benoit, Edge, Rey Mysterio, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero and Chavo Guerrero), but when Los Matadores and El Torito engaged in a feud with 3MB and Hornswoggle that was settled with a "WEE LC" match on the pre-show of Extreme Rules that involved full-sized and smaller people flipping, flopping and flying everywhere and the match likely stealing the show before the show began, it was a telling moment that the current WWE crew (even given that two of the six competitors in that match were released) is possibly more ready than ever to get into the ring in any permutations and work their hardest to have credible and entertaining matches. Thus, giving tag team wrestling an opportunity highlights this evolution.
