10 Reasons WWE Fans Should Be Worried About Brand Split 2016
4. NXT Could Be Raided
Latest rumours suggest that “up to a dozen” NXT talents are to be called-up to the main roster in order to ease the brand split transition, and while that will open-up a number of exciting possibilities on Raw and Smackdown, it’ll be disastrous for WWE’s developmental brand.
NXT might be low on WWE’s list of priorities, but it regularly produces the company’s most exciting weekly television, and its Takeover live specials are out of this world. It’d be a giant shame to see NXT gutted of its talent, but it feels inevitable at this point.
Take the reported “dozen” wrestlers away, and you’re leaving NXT with the likes of Elias Samson and Mojo Rawley to fight for scraps. WWE will find ways to replace Finn Balor and Samoa Joe, but it’ll take NXT a long time to return to its current levels.
