There’ll be a number of cross-brand pay-per-views throughout the year, sure, but fans don’t want to see WWE’s most talented workers split-up and cast into different corners of the Universe. Why should we be deprived the opportunity of seeing Cesaro wrestle Sami Zayn, or Kevin Owens challenge for the Intercontinental Championship?

Signings and call-ups should open-up some fresh new possibilities, but WWE are effectively cutting their talent pool in half and shunting them in opposite directions. Raw, for example, is already lacking in high-level match-ups, so why make that worse?

The cross-brand PPVs might feel more important as a result, but how do you build excitement for inter-brand matches when the wrestlers involved will never be able to interact with each other while stuck on different shows?
