10 Reasons WWE Fans Should Be Worried About Brand Split 2016

1. Having Two World Titles Is Bad For Business

Last but not least, WWE looks all but certain to reinstate the “big gold belt” and install a “World Champion” on each brand.

Nobody gains from this. With two “top” titles, it’s impossible for one not to come-off as the main prize, and the other to be relegated to a B-level trinket. It’s a situation that practically guarantees inequality at the top of the card, and the brand inheriting the de facto “second” World Title will suffer as a result.

It’s impossible to great two “top belts” of equal footing. It didn’t work last time, and it won’t work this time. A single World Champion floating between both brands makes all the sense in the world and gives the roster a singular focus: having two only serves to water-down an already ailing main event scene.
