10 Reasons WWE Fans Should Be Worried About The Women’s Revolution

4. The Wild Card Rule

The Wild Card Rule in theory allows for all sorts of unpredictable and entertaining television. In practice it involves the same handful of performers turning up on both Raw and SmackDown, gobbling up precious TV time every week.

This makes it harder and harder to find room for midcard talent to appear. Finn Bálor, for example, is current Intercontinetal title holder. Finn Bálor also struggles to get on TV most weeks.

As with the men, Becky Lynch, Bayley or Alexa Bliss appearing across both brands means less room for talent further down the card. The women’s roster don’t even have a midcard belt to justify a bit of exposure.

Without regular TV time to build up storylines, there’s less chance of women getting space on a crowded pay-per-view card to blow off a feud. This perpetuates a situation where men dominate monthly PPV events as well as weekly television.
