10 Reasons WWE Fans Will Hate Sting Vs The Undertaker

4. The Undertaker's Streak Already Being Broken

One of the biggest selling points of WrestleMania, year in and year out, over the last several years has been The Undertaker's undefeated streak, which had grown to monumental proportions, pretty much transcending the business itself. The built to Taker's matches would often see more attention than the WWE and/or World Title matches taking place at Mania. It was the only reason Taker continued to return to the company, as he hasn't been wrestling very much outside of Mania in recent times. Now that "The Streak" has been broken, what reason is there for Taker to come back? You could argue that, in kayfabe, he'd want to come back to avenge his loss, but that would mean another match with Brock Lesnar, not a match with Sting. You'd struggle to come up with a logical reason for Taker to return for this match, no matter how hard you tried, especially with Taker almost having to be begged and pleaded with (in kayfabe) to get matches recently. With Taker's big selling point being gone, you have to assume that will affect the way some fans view the match, even if it's something that would be promoted like crazy. The "wow" factor would be a lot less than it could/should be, and that tends to alter the way people perceive matches, even before the opening bell.
