10 Reasons WWE Is Losing Their Audience

3. Casual Viewers Have Little Reason To Watch

On a weekly basis, the loyal viewers of Monday Night Raw are often forced to sit through an endless amount of replays from nearly every segment. Not only does this irritate the regular viewing audience that watches entire broadcast, but what reason does the casual viewer have to make sure they're tuned in from start to finish?

Another area in which WWE seems to have generally given up on the casual viewer is the way they introduce talents.

Nowadays, Raw viewers are expected to also be NXT viewers based on the lack of promotion or introductory vignettes given to new superstars. Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, Bayley, and American Alpha are just a few examples of talents that just "showed up" on the main roster one day with little to no preparation time.

Whether it was the Million Dollar Man, Mr. Perfect, Razor Ramon, or Val Venis, many superstars from past generations were built up as big attractions ahead of time so that by the time they debuted in the ring, audiences were familiar with them as characters and would react.

Today, unless you watch NXT (and judging by the number of WWE Network subscribers (1.8 million vs. RAW's 3 million viewers), many don't), the casual fan would have no idea who these new wrestlers are.
