10 Reasons WWE Need To End The Brand Split (Again)

8. Midcard Belts Are Losing Value

Brands Together

If we're to assume the brand split shall remain in effect for the foreseeable future, that means each dual-branded PPV will have a lot of title matches. Currently, between RAW and SmackDown, you have both world titles, the US and Intercontinental titles, both Women's, both tag team titles, and the Cruiserweight championship: that is nine championships that fans will expect to see on each PPV.

If you're the Cruiserweight champion, or either of the tag champs, good luck finding a spot on the main card. If Bobby Roode continues to be the US Champion, he could find himself stuck in preshow hell forever, which would do neither him nor the belt any favors.

The fact is, belt dilution is not a positive, especially when it's several duplicates within divisions. If WWE are going to have all the roster on all the shows, they need to merge the various redundant titles so that the midcard champions have some value and a spot on the PPV card.
