10 Reasons WWE Need To End The Brand Split (Again)

7. Survivor Series' Gimmick Will Get Old Quickly

"IT'S THE ONE NIGHT A YEAR WHEN RAW AND SMACKDOWN GO HEAD-TO-HEAD!"

Like all of their buzzword-laden slogans, WWE jammed this one down our throats this past November at Survivor Series. The entire concept of the show revolved around matches between RAW and SmackDown superstars, particularly champion vs. champion matches such as Corbin vs. Miz, Charlotte vs. Bliss, and of course, AJ Styles vs. Brock Lesnar.

While Survivor Series 2017 was certainly a fun show that delivered a fantastic Styles/Lesnar dream match, I can't say I really ever need to see this concept again, especially the way WWE portrayed it. Granted, while a 5-on-5 RAW vs. SmackDown elimination match is exactly the sort of gimmick that gives a Survivor Series match the weight it needs, it's really daft how now each November, all storylines are put on hold so that RAW and SmackDown can suddenly hate each other to death and will stop at nothing to destroy each other just because it's Survivor Series season.

I understand WWE's need to inject life into this show, but making it the annual arbitrary brands feuding show will make it very tired very quickly.
