10 Reasons Why WWE Owner Vince McMahon Just Lost $842 Million
4. Spreading WWE Too Thinly
Take a look at WWE right now and how much content they are producing - a live three hour Raw, Smackdown, a monthly special, Total Divas, two live tours a week, a reality show, other programming and of course the WWE Network. This is a company with only 700 full time employees. An argument can be made that the company is spreading itself too thinly right now. They've got so much work on their plate that the quality of their produce is diluted. Vince in particular remains the main man at Monday Night Raw and still works a day that starts at 4am and finishes around midnight. Is the Chairman spending too much time, energy and money across too many divisions? It's certainly been a notion which has dogged WWE for years, they should focus on wrestling what they're good at it and not multimedia projects where they lack knowledge. The WWE Films project is a prime example of this. Monday Night Raw sucks right now. The creative engagement has declined since WrestleMania. The external perception that WWE is a 'Jack of all trades' and the master of none has maybe set in... when your show sucks it makes sense that the value of your company drops.
