10 Reasons WWE Roadblock Was Better Than Fastlane

If you were to glance over the results of WWE Roadblock, nobody would blame you for thinking it was just another typical, ordinary WWE event. Much like Fastlane, there were no title changes, no debuts and no real surprises, except the available star power for Roadblock was severely limited due to a WWE Live event in Atlantic City, New Jersey the same night. With that in mind, somehow the glorified house show that was Roadblock managed to be one of the most enjoyable WWE events in recent years. As a WWE Network exclusive, the company only had to cater the event for fans invested enough in professional wrestling to warrant a subscription. There was little need for promos, few rivalries needed to be developed, and for the first time in what feels like a lifetime, WWE structured a thoroughly enjoyable event around the most important facet: wrestling. Further than being a breath of fresh air, those that tuned in are now looking towards WrestleMania with renewed optimism. WWE's biggest event of the year may not be the catastrophe it appeared to be if Fastlane was any indication. Roadblock is everything that Fastlane should have been in every regard, and going by the irregular positive responses on social media, WWE would do well to repeat the same formula for major events in the future...
