10 Reasons WWE Shouldn't Bring Back Alberto Del Rio

1. WWE Had Their Chances To Push Him

If WWE really wanted to make Alberto Del Rio the star he should have been, they would have done so by now. We are seven years removed from his debut on WWE TV and the damage has been done, meaning it's time for Vince McMahon to move on from his dreams of Del Rio being one of their top guys.

Del Rio was at the peak of his popularity in 2011 when he won the Royal Rumble and headlined WrestleMania XXVII. Although they waited a little longer than they should have to put the WWE Championship on him at SummerSlam, at least he had finally made it ... until he dropped the prestigious prize all of five weeks later.

Whenever he was on the cusp of super stardom, WWE would ruin his momentum and knock him back down the card. His first run had its moments, his second run was a waste, and a third run would just be unnecessary.

There comes a point with every wrestler where it's painfully obvious they will never again get beyond a certain level because they're long past their expiration date. That's the case with Alberto Del Rio, and is why WWE would be making a mistake by re-signing him.
