10 Reasons WWE Shouldn't Bring Back Alberto Del Rio

2. His Second Run Was A Flop

Remember when Alberto Del Rio returned to WWE at Hell in a Cell 2015 as a surprise opponent for John Cena, won the United States Championship in clean fashion, and received a huge ovation from the audience in attendance?

It was all downhill from there for the former four-time WWE world champion.

Between his lackluster reigns as U.S. champion and being placed in the very forgettable League of Nations faction, he was horribly handled for the rest of his run with the company. Regardless of what you think of Del Rio, it seemed silly for them to bring him back for so much money only to do nothing of note with him.

Let it be known as well that Del Rio proved in his first time away from WWE that he still had some worth. He was a hot commodity in Ring of Honor and Lucha Underground, so WWE should have treated him like the star he was in those organizations.

Instead, he was right back to where he was before his previous WWE stint ended. Needless to say, a third run would be no different.
