There have been rumors of Alberto Del Rio retiring from the ring dating back to 2014. After all, he didn't plan to have a lengthy stay in wrestling (at least in the United States) when he originally signed with WWE in 2009.

He has continued to tease hanging up the boots for good in recent years yet has remained a regular on the wrestling scene, competing for various companies. Regardless of when he actually decides to call it a career, the fact of the matter is that he doesn't have many years left at the age of 40.

While current WWE champion AJ Styles is as old as Del Rio, The Phenomenal One has barely scratched the surface of what he's capable of accomplishing in WWE. Furthermore, bringing back Del Rio for another one-year run before he rides off into the sunset doesn't seem to be worth it.

After all, there aren't many fans clamoring for a Del Rio return. He would be better off wrestling for the remainder of his career in IMPACT or in Mexico where he can go out on top instead of losing to Mojo Rawley on PPV pre-shows.
