10 Reasons WWE SmackDown Is Already Better Than Raw

SmackDown is already showing signs of bloodying Raw's nose.

For the first time in years, the Blue Brand is being presented as a product that is worth watching and the old rivalry between WWE's flagship shows has been renewed.

Despite this, there is no denying that to most people Raw is still the big daddy. SmackDown can do all it wants but Raw is Vince's baby, and if you want to catch the big news, it is the program you have to tune into.

Which is a valid thought process; you just have to look at the Draft to see that WWE still feels the same way. While SmackDown got a few stars, Raw got the young, hot talents who had already established themselves.

However, you would also be wrong. Because only two weeks in SmackDown is already laying down roots that suggest it might not only compete with Raw, but it could well be the better show.

10. Two Hours Long

Look, it's a simple point, and it's been made before, but Raw is really, really long. If you watch it live in the UK, you are up until hell o'clock in the morning, and if you record it for later, you need to dedicate a whole evening to it. Three hours is too long to be watching wrestling on a weekly basis.

SmackDown meanwhile is a nice and respectable two hours. That's the length of an average film or a couple of episodes of House of Cards. It's just right.

When Raw is over and done with, you feel like you've come staggering, sweaty and panting over a marathon finishing line. When SmackDown's done, you almost fancy a little bit more.
