Not to sound like JBL, but Dean Ambrose isn't exactly a natural WWE Champion. He's a rebel and the way he presents his character made it hard to imagine him putting down a lengthy championship run.
On the latest episode of SmackDown, those thoughts were vanquished. Not only is Dean showing all the charisma we knew he had, but he's also now looking more and more like the elder head of the brand. When he calmly faced off with Dolph Ziggler in the ring, he came across not like a champion tentatively holding onto his belt but a star who knew he was good enough to be there.
Dean Ambrose is a fascinating wrestler. Everything about him shouldn't work, and yet it does, and there are already signs that his WWE Championship run is going to be the same. Watching him grow into one of the top guys in the promotion already looks likely to be a fascinating run.
