Though the stories circulating about the incident that led to the firing of Del Rio are still rumours, the phrase "there's no smoke without fire" comes to mind. There are enough tales about Del Rio's behaviour backstage to surmise that, in certain circles, he was not well liked. Firstly, there was the incident with fellow wrestler Sin Cara, who injured his finger in a match with Del Rio in August 2013. Sin Cara ended up stopping the match early due to the injury, which angered Del Rio. The end of the match footage of Del Rio desperately trying to continue attacking Sin Cara, while getting restrained is completely legitimate. This caused something of a rift between the two Mexican-born wrestlers. Then, when Batista (now a bona fide actor in Hollywood blockbusters, which we all predicted, right?) returned earlier this year, Del Rio started something of a war of words with him too, that WWE promptly turned into an underwhelming on-screen feud. Whether it comes from being used to being the top draw wrestling in Mexico, or considering himself a little higher up the pecking order than he actually was, there always seemed to be stories circulating of Del Rio being somewhat disliked backstage.
