10 Reasons WWE Were Right To Retire Daniel Bryan

1. The Future Is With Youth

WWE's future is with youth, and they were right to avoid looking to the past with Daniel Bryan. Sure, a return would have been fun, it would have made money, but it wasn't the next evolutionary step for the company. He turns thirty five in a few months and actually wasn't that far off a normal retirement age. By moving on from him and encouraging him to step away from the business, they've certainly closed a chapter in WWE history. But what comes next with WWE's new generation could be as exciting as the journey that Bryan went on half a decade ago. There's thirty year old Roman Reigns. Twenty nine year old Seth Rollins. Thirty year old Dean Ambrose. Twenty eight year old Bray Wyatt, and of course all the NXT prospects. As cold as it may sound, part of WWE's thinking with Bryan would have been that he's the past. You can't say they were wrong to retire a physically liable thirty four year old, not when they've got a roster of young and healthy upstarts. The moving on process starts now. When one man steps away from the business, it is time for another man to step up.
