Daniel Bryan needed pushing into retirement, he wasn't to go gently into the night. That much has been obvious, especially when he would speak to the media and continually assert his aim to return. Retirement just wasn't an option in his mind. Even more so in the last month, he has been absolutely insistent on wrestling again. But with concussions, it isn't like you can just rest a brain up and expect it to get back to normal. After so many hits, the damage is lasting, often only revealing itself in later life. Bryan felt fine now, so he looked past any future worries. But it could have eventually caught up with him and severely limited his later life. Thankfully, WWE looked at the situation more rationally. They knew he was a risk, and they weren't prepared to take it. That resulted in them pushing him into retirement, it was either he accepted the WWE verdict, or faced being frozen out in a continued impasse.
