9. It Will Keep The Company's Top Stars On Their Toes

People like Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan, for example - who have really become the two big stars of the WWE since Punk's departure. Even The Shield may have an interest in matters regarding CM Punk, because if he does return, he will be very much after top spot again. Don't be fooled into thinking that Punk could come back and enter in a series of meaningless, redundant feuds. If he did return, he'd want it all. If the WWE decide to extend Punk's contract beyond the current expiry, then there is little doubt it will bring the best out of the guys who are currently at the top end of the card. It would send a message out to those stars that the WWE are still keen to get Punk back - and if they do, one of them could well suffer as a result of it. In terms of the impact it could have backstage, it would certainly have a bearing on how the top guys in the company approach their business. With the presence of an in-contract Punk looming over their shoulders, it could bring the best out of the WWE's big names.
