10 Reasons WWE Won’t Pull The Trigger On Dean Ambrose
2. The Over-Reliance On Established Names
This old chestnut again. Yawn... Even though Roman Reigns is WWE World Heavyweight Champion this still rings true. He's battling Sheamus while even Vince McMahon himself, arguably the most solid of names in WWE at the moment, has come out of in-ring retirement (so to speak) to get a new star over... But it's true. When Seth Rollins was battling the likes of Sting and Kane last year, Ambrose was playing a secondary role in the Bray Wyatt vs. Roman Reigns feud. Yes, I know Dean had a decent shot at the title himself earlier in the year - even stealing it at one point and making for a very entertaining few segments on RAW - but it could have been so much more, both from an in-ring and storyline perspective. Dean wrangled his way into Payback's Fatal Four main event before getting two titles shots against The Architect, who also feuded with another established name in Brock Lesnar, during last year. Roman Reigns aside, WWE were very cautious when it came to trying to create new superstars and Ambrose's main event opportunities suffered because of that.
