10 Reasons WWE Won’t Pull The Trigger On Dean Ambrose
10. He Could Gazump Roman Reigns As A Babyface
And there's no way Vince McMahon would allow that to happen... Not with Reigns being the bosses' proverbial lump of clay. We've all heard how Vince sees Roman as the man who could be his first creation to make it to the levels the likes of John Cena and The Rock have. While Cena and Rocky created their own respective gimmicks, which saw them propelled to the heights you see today, Roman is straight from the mind of McMahon. Vinnie Mac has tried before with the likes of Lex Luger and failed. Miserably. So nothing will get in the way of Roman becoming a success with Vince right at the heart of that. With John Cena taking time off and Seth Rollins' unfortunate injury, the cards fell perfectly in place to strap those rocket boosters onto Roman and hand him the WWE World Heavyweight Championship. Feedback from the crowd was different, a polar opposite to the boos that greeted his Royal Rumble win last January. Reigns has had to prove himself to certain sections of the WWE Universe. As soon as talk of him being 'the chosen one' and sentences like "pushed down our throats" were used alongside Reigns' name, he was going to have an uphill battle winning over some. Let's call a spade a spade here: if Dean Ambrose was chosen as the guy, he would have trounced Reigns in every area. Crowd reaction (he has no doubters due to his history in the business) and merch sales (which are already up there with the best even though he hasn't been 'the guy') could have potentially dwarfed Reigns' numbers. That, in turn, would have seen Vince fail once again. Not going to happen. Simple.
