While there's always been a bigger heel when he's been playing a bad guy. Dean has never been THE stand-out guy. With WWE's booking being so predictable and formulaic in the modern day, seeing the element of surprise that made eras gone by so great eradicated almost altogether, you can't come in under the radar to receive a main event push. You have to stand out and prove you can cut it at the highest level. And while Ambrose hasn't ever really been given the opportunity to prove himself over a long period of time, he's always been down the pecking order in terms of the superstars Vince McMahon would be looking at.
