10 Reasons WWE's Best Era Is Secretly Its WORST Era

3. It Was Only Good For YOU

You might have had a great old time during the Attitude Era. You might miss it dearly. You might think wrestling has gone "soft" in the years since, and you might think that the correlation between WWE's most popular period and the content WWE produced cannot be ignored. You might think WWE should go back. You might have insisted upon this every year since 2001.

"You" here are a white millennial bloke. Wrestling should be for everybody. If you were not a straight white male between December 1997 and April 1991, you were as ignored as Shawn Stasiak running into walls as the Rock paid no attention to him.

If you comprised almost half of the global population, you, as a woman, were equated with a conniving "jezebel". You existed for the titillation of men. You were asked to get your breasts out by Triple H. Nobody asked the blokes to expose themselves because that would be "gay" and, Christ almighty, that did not fly. The homophobia was repugnant. If your gender identity clashed with the sex assigned at birth, you were nothing more than a punchline, somebody it was funny and gross for Mark Henry to have intercourse with. If you were Mark Henry himself, you were someone to whom Triple H directed monkey gestures towards.

As a babyface.

Then. Now. Forever. Together*.

*Only if you were a certain person.
