10 Reasons You Should Be Watching New Japan Pro Wrestling
2. Kenny Omega
Will he or won’t he?
It was the question that surrounded Kenny Omega for most of January following his incredible match with Okada. The Cleaner seemed to be WWE-bound, and even with his contract not due to expire until after the event, rumours were swirling that he would pop up in the Royal Rumble. That was, until he sat down and had a chat with Uncle Dave and explained he wasn't going anywhere.
Which can only be a good thing. Even WWE fans have to accept that their current system of hoovering up every talent available is not good for business. In Omega, New Japan has a guy who is willing to tell WWE where to shove it. They also have one hell of a wrestler.
Whether he is goofy (if you haven’t, check out his match with a nine-year-old girl) or serious, Omega is a man who demands to be watched. With his new contract reportedly only one year in length, there is a chance WWE will still come a-knocking, but for the next year at least, Omega has some business to finish up in Japan.
