10 Reasons You Should Give WWE NXT Another Chance

7. The D'Angelo Verse

When Tony D'Angelo first arrived on the scene in NXT, there were questions about whether his kingpin gimmick would take off. Undoubtedly, he could go in the ring and was even the shining star in the 2.0 vs. Black and Gold WarGames match in 2021, but the gimmick felt like an unneeded weight dragging him down.

However, through an engaging feud with Pete Dunne and a career-defining victory over Tommaso Ciampa, D'Angelo became the "don" of NXT and therefore a trusted hand in the ring. The rivalry between The D'Angelo Family and Legado Del Fantasma took off and saw the duo turn face in the process to become one of the more over acts on Tuesday nights.

What proceeded the turn was the character development of the underboss Channing "Stacks" Lorenzo who played a big part in D'Angelo winning his feud against Dijak in a Jailbreak Street Fight. Lorenzo then helped Tony get released from prison after getting kayfabe arrested at the hands of the Gallus boys. Following this, the pair went on to win the NXT tag titles from the Scottish duo to a huge ovation at Great American Bash which further cemented their rightful place as one of NXT's hottest and most popular teams.

The D'Angelo family and the whole multiverse that comes with them have offered some truly unique and often unmissable segments throughout their near two-year stay in developmental and adds something original to the NXT viewing experience each week.
