10 Reasons You Should Give WWE NXT Another Chance

3. It's Well Paced TV

Weekly television has never been NXT's strongest suit. Even at the pinnacle of the much-acclaimed "Black and Gold" era, TV was just a small stepping stone towards the top of the mountain which were Takeover specials.

Generally speaking, WWE TV as a whole is slow in progression, lacking direction and a mismatch of pacing. Raw is three hours long which is difficult to pace around constant ad breaks while Smackdown suffers from over-Bloodline syndrome taking up too much airtime which negatively affects the run of the program. With NXT, the show is strategically booked around commercial breaks and gives a fair amount of each broadcast to every ongoing feud.

In addition to this, the flow of the program week to week is different from what you get on Mondays and Fridays. Raw and Smackdown follow a strict formula that the show is booked through which is the polar opposite of NXT where one week the show may start with a promo and the week after begins with a 15-minute barn burner.

As aforementioned, originality is a strength of NXT and that applies to segments as simple as backstage interviews. As far-fetched as it may sound, the pacing of a show is helped by what you see and if it's the same set backstage for three to four consecutive interviews, the broadcast naturally drags while with the developmental brand, the change in locations from a bar out of town to the parking lot keeps the show moving and makes it a much easier product to watch.
