7. The Lana Experiment

Letting Lana try her hand at a full-time wrestling career wasn't an inherently bad idea, but WWE pulled the trigger entirely too early. Instead of giving 'The Ravishing Russian' a few years to train, they inserted her into the SmackDown Women's Title picture after just a few months in the Performance Center, and the results weren't pretty.

Lana looked well off the pace in her match with Naomi at Money In The Bank, and even worse over the weeks that followed. The champ defeated her in under a minute two weeks later, then squashed her in less than 10 seconds on 4 July, and her latest defeat came to Charlotte a few weeks ago. Lana's credibility is shot to pieces, and the company have been forced to relegate her back to management duties through her alliance with Tamina.

This will almost certainly coincide with an upturn in fortunes, as Lana is one of the best managers in the business, but her sudden ascension effectively held the women's division up for a month. Unless WWE were out to deliberately bury Lana, the whole affair was a complete waste of time, and her value as an active wrestler may already be exhausted.
