2. Baron Corbin's Current Arc

Baron Corbin's Money In The Bank triumph was telegraphed months in advance. Most news outlets predicted he'd snatch the briefcase, then feud with WWE Champion Randy Orton over the summer, and while the latter half obviously didn't materialise, the former came to pass.

'The Lone Wolf's' apparent main event push started with the case, but ended last week. Corbin botched his MITB cash-in by letting himself get distracted by John Cena. Jinder Mahal rolled him up almost as soon as the bell had rang, and just like that, Baron's meal ticket was gone. He followed this up with a dismal loss to Cena at SummerSlam, and by all accounts, his push has now come to an end.

The burial certainly hasn't sparked an outrage, as Corbin would've likely been a lousy WWE Champion anyway, given his clear deficiencies in the ring and on the microphone. That doesn't change the fact that WWE essentially wasted two months of television by building this guy up, though. They presented Corbin as the next guy up, then tore him to pieces in the blink of an eye, and instead of using the MITB briefcase to benefit a more engaging wrestler like Sami Zayn, they've burned it completely.
