10 Recent WWE PPVs That Were Worse Than WWE Fastlane 2016
6. Battleground 2014
Battleground 2014 looked like a weak card on paper, but there was one match that fans were anxiously awaiting - Dean Ambrose versus his Shield-brother-turned-Authority-sellout Seth Rollins. Both men had reputations as great workers from the independent scene and had done amazing things in tag team matches, so hopes were high for one of their early singles outings. Naturally, the match was cancelled. Earlier in the show, Ambrose had attack Rollins, so Triple H decided that Ambrose needed to be removed from the building. Rollins was declared the winner by forfeit, and Ambrose managed to attack him again. In the main event, John Cena defended the WWE Title against Roman Reigns, Randy Orton, and Kane, pinning Kane (and doing Reigns no favors). Also on the show, The Miz won a battle royal to win the Intercontinental Championship, and Lana made a comment subtly praising Vladimir Putin for a real-life act of terrorism.
