4. Athena And Jody Threat's Match Is "Too Aggressive" For AEW Management

Look, sometimes wrestling can be a little rough around the edges. And this can actually add some satisfying grittiness to an ongoing war.

Yet, with Athena recently opting to work heel in response to Jody Threat being received as a hometown hero in Toronto, Ontario, the physicality on show soon went up a few notches to the point where AEW management deemed the Dark: Elevation bout as "too aggressive" in the aftermath.

Now it is worth noting how Threat herself was said to have had no problems with the physicality being dialled up. And Athena would go on to raise her opponent's hand in the wake of the hard-hitting action, too.

However, it's still believed by sources that communication should've been somewhat clearer and the increased physicality shouldn't have come to pass in the first place.

Both women weren't said to have been involved in any sort of confrontation after the match either, with Fightful also noting how "not everything that is being micro-analyzed on social media" came about due to the situation. And the backstage heat wasn't anywhere near as intense as some folks initially believed.

In other words, don't believe everything you hear online - much of this explosive bout still went according to plan.
