10 Recent WWE Burials We Just Can't Explain

9. Bobby Roode

A warm body on Monday Night Raw after starting life as a white hot star on SmackDown Live, Bobby Roode's descent to the undercard was confirmed by Chad Gable's shift to SmackDown Live without his 'Glorious' tag team partner. Was Roode all robe and roaring entrance theme all along? Moreover, does he really care?

The former TNA Champion snuck into NXT just in time to earn one of the best gimmicks in the history of the brand, but his methodical style doesn't jive with the sort of TV matches required to earn him a little more on the monthly pay-per-views. The aforementioned partnership with Chad Gable was yet another salvage job done well by the former American Alpha star, but their heel turn just before being split up will now presumably go onto the broad and experienced shoulders of the 41-year-old.

At this point in his career, Roode may be content to earn his best ever wage for looking at lights all over the world, but the brightest one of all used to shine down on him - his trajectory over the last several months seems almost entirely at odds with the effort initially made in helping him get over.
