10 Recent WWE Burials We Just Can't Explain

8. EC3

For all the contemporary ways characters have been crushed of late, there's a late-90s vintage about the manner in which WWE have deployed a destroy-and-exit strategy on the EC3 gimmick. It's almost as if Vince McMahon knew what the second letter in his name actually stood for when he re-signed him. Or if he knew he'd even worked for the company before.

Of course The Chairman gave little mind to TNA, nor whom Ethan Carter III might have had links to that put him in the '1%' in the first place, but it's been staggering to see a man characterised as being richer and better than the rest of us be reduced to something even less in record time.

More Ted Dibiase Jr than JBL, this million dollar body wasn't afforced a ten cent brain for the first few weeks, and when he did break his silence he wasted it on a failed effort to pull Sonya Deville on a pay-per-view pre-show. Relegated to Main Event after going 50/50 with a departing Dean Ambrose on Raw, he was brought back to get battered by Braun Strowman as his first official act as a red brand "star".

1% over, 99% absolutely f*cked.
