10 Recent WWE Character Turns That Didn't Make Sense
1. Seth Rollins
The stage was set so wonderfully for Seth Rollins to become one of the company's biggest babyface superstars upon his return from injury that the decision to make him heel could be the worst call WWE has made in 2016.
Everything WWE had done since Rollins went down with a torn ACL, MCL, and medial meniscus had prepared the audience to root for this guy when he returned. The coverage of his surgery in Alabama, the WWE 24 special that had been produced for the WWE Network, the Redesign/Rebuild/Reclaim strategy, and his surprise return in the main event of WWE Extreme Rules were straight out of "How To Make A Babyface 101".
While not necessarily a turn per se, Rollins returned on the RAW after Extreme Rules and instantly buried the fans.
Now again, it is clear that WWE has been in dire need of top heels to balance their roster, but that's a problem that A) is of WWE's own doing and could've been resolved by now and B) not a reason to extinguish the flame of potentially WWE's hottest babyface since Daniel Bryan.
God knows they're not getting what they want out of the crowd's reaction to Roman Reigns, why not give Seth that opportunity, especially considering how many fans were vehemently behind him?
Maybe Vince doesn't want another Bret Hart to Roman Reigns' Lex Luger, but that doesn't prevent it from being a terrible decision. In fact, it cements it as the #1 most recent character allegiance decision that did not make any sense.
