10 Recent WWE Rivalries That Underwhelmed In The Ring
6. Dean Ambrose Vs. Chris Jericho
Dean Ambrose and Chris Jericho were originally set to feud going into WrestleMania 32, but their program was pushed back so Ambrose could work with Lesnar. Perhaps that was for the best based off how the Ambrose vs. Jericho feud ended up shaking out.
Granted, Ambrose beat Jericho on back-to-back pay-per-views and those victories were what eventually launched him into WWE Championship contention, but the matches themselves left a lot to be desired. For a feud that should have been a lot less tame than it was, they simply didn't have a ton of chemistry against each other, largely having good-but-not-great matches every time.
That was especially evident at Extreme Rules when they fought in the first-ever (and thankfully only) Ambrose Asylum match. Basically, it was a steel cage with weapons attached at the top, but none of the "foreign objects" were particularly lethal.
It didn't help that the match dragged on, and on, and on, boring everyone in attendance as a result. Following that catastrophe of a contest, most fans would be content if they never saw another Ambrose vs. Jericho match again.
