8. Kofi Kingston Is First To Pin The WWE World Heavyweight Champion - Raw, Jan 2014
That pesky Kofi Kingston struck again in early 2014, making history as the first person to defeat a WWE World Heavyweight Champion. Randy Orton was the first person to hold the newly named WWE World Heavyweight Championship, when he won a ladder match that merged the WWE & World Heavyweight titles. Given the significance of a new, unified and all-ruling champion, attributing his first pinfall loss would probably have been similarly significant, and the person that got to do it would be a major star, or, as a result, would go on to be one. On the 13th January edition of Raw, Kingston faced off against Orton in a singles (non-title) match, which Kofi won. Cleanly. No shenanigans, screw jobs or anything. He didn't even use his proper finisher, instead pinning Orton after an SOS. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=v8ZqVWx-wBc Again Kofi's accomplishment went unrecognised, which is surprising, given that a clean pin over a World Champion is a rare thing, and the first pinfall defeat over the holder of an entirely new championship is even rarer.
