10 Ridiculous Comics Starring Wrestlers

4. Mick Foley Writes John Cena, Police Detective

Vince McMahon's most recent dip into the waters of the comic book world is WWE Superstars, a series that not only bears the company's branding and stable of wrestlers but is also written by one of the company's most famous living legends. Yep, Mankind himself is the writer behind Superstars and the comic definitely lives up to his ring persona of being 100% bat-poop insane. Taking place in the fictional locale of Titan City, WWE Superstars is the story of a town caught in the crossfire of warring factions. Gangsters, corrupt city officials and police alike clash, and they're all "played" by current WWE wrestlers, and also all their clashes occur in the ring. Randy Orton is a DA with ties to the mob, John Cena is a hard-bitten detective, Rey Mysterio is an masked vigilante, The Shield are dodgy cops and the Wyatt Family are insane cultists who live on the peripheries of society. Actually, some of those aren't too far from their TV personas...Anyway, suffice to say the series' initial Money In The Bank storyline is amazing and ridiculous, and the cut-aways to wrestling matches that represent everything from gun battles to political speeches are incredible. The second arc, Haze of Glory, takes place in a reality a little closer to that of Monday night Raw, except with psychic powers and gorillas.
