10 Ridiculous Finishes To WWE And WCW World Title Matches

1. Thunder, April, 2000 - David Aquette & DDP Vs Jeff Jarrett And Eric Bischoff - Tag-Team Match For The WCW World Heavyweight Championship

There are so many events that are said to have been the reason WCW ceased to function as a wrestling company, while many agree that this match was the final nail in the WCW coffin. In a desperate attempt to make the company relevant again, Vince Russo sought the help of actor David Arquette, who previously starred in the WCW film Ready To Rumble before his actual wrestling debut. After a worked confrontation with Eric Bischoff and the New Blood, Arquette joined a group consisting of himself, DDP and Chris Kanyon. 2 weeks later, Arquette teamed with Diamond Dallas Page against Eric Bischoff and Jeff Jarrett in a tag-team match with an absurd stipulation. The first person to successfully pin would become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion - even if Dallas was not involved in the decision. Unfortunately the stipulation wasn't a bad joke, Arquette pinned Bischoff to win the title in April, 2000 on WCW THUNDER (Yes, really). While this match didn't have a wacky swerve or a stupid conclusion, the booking decision itself is enough to warrant this match so highly on this list. An actor with no wrestling experience, pinned a writer of a wrestling company to win that company's major title, on a b-show in a tag-team match. Every part of that sentence is against any notion of logic or sense. Truly shocking.
