10 Ridiculous Tag-Teams WWE Missed Out On

9. 'The Models' (Rick Martel & Rick Rude)

Rick Martel couldn't cut a promo to save his life. In fairness, English wasn't the French-Canadian's first language, but he didn't have the charisma to back up his stunning look and ready-made 'Model' personal in the early-90s. Someone like Rick Rude (who could talk) would've helped big time.

Who knows what would've happened had Rude not bolted to WCW in 1991.

'The Models' could've been a fine spot for him. Rude would have been able to show off his promo chops away from managers like Bobby Heenan or Paul E. Dangerously, and both he and Martel may have clicked inside the ring. Both were fine workers in the respect.

Martel's self-obsessed gimmick never really got going once he split from Tito Santana and their Strike Force team. Years later, he almost formed another model-esque duo with Don Callis that the WWF nixed before it debuted.
