10 Ridiculous Tag-Teams WWE Missed Out On

6. 'Kats & Dogs' (Battle Kat & Junkyard Dog)

Would anyone have put this past WWF creative in the late-80s/early-90s?

Battle Kat was a short-lived character introduced in 1990 that plodded more than purred. Whilst that nonsense was going on, the Junkyard Dog was going through the motions himself over in WCW. Had he ever launched a WWF comeback, then teaming with the Kat could've been one creative pitch.

Yes, the 'Cats & Dogs' name is one note, but it's hardly any more cartoonish than most other things going on in the undercards during the early-to-mid-90s. Besides, announcers getting all poetic about how cats and dogs had finally managed to co-exist has that whimsical, straight-ahead presentation that the WWF so loved back then.

It would've been an easy-to-follow story for kids. Battle Kat's cunning and athleticism mixed with Dog's brute strength and protective nature also sounds like the sort of thing yours truly would have tried with action figures as a kid.
